Get-together session with students from the UK - 1st floor space
Last week, Robert from the London design collective Superblue lead students on a research tour to in a bid to explore issues related to 「Design and Culture in the City」, coming all the way to Tokyo to go urban trekking.
This project led him on a trail of Tokyo's hotspots, lining up nicely with the more and more Londoners getting hooked on stuff coming out of Tokyo. The results were shared in a presentation at Gotanda Sonic (in ACO's 1st floor space), generating much joint discussion about Tokyo's particular cultural rules, the aesthetics of its transport networks, and other urban capers. There was even lots of time after the presentation for mingling and exchanging ideas about design among ACO staff and other participants, turning Gotanda Sonic into a space for communication. Such exchanges among people are the seed of future ideas. We look forward to creating more of such opportunities in the near future.
